Frida Karlsson, Ebba Andersson, Linn Svahn, Jonna Sundling.
Sweden has many world stars who all have a chance to win gold medals at the WC in Trondheim.
– I have been asked many times about who is the best, it is just as difficult to answer it every time, says Viaplay expert Anna-Karin Strömstedt to Sportbibeln.
The Skiing WC in Trondheim, Norway is just over a month away. The Swedish ladies have not had a successful start to the season – especially not at the Tour de Ski – with the exception of Jonna Sundling and Frida Karlsson (which was good once she competed). The question is, can they find form in time for the championship to begin?
Many medal hopes among Sweden’s ladies
In addition to Sundling, Sweden also has big sprint stars such as Lynn Svahn, Johanna Hagström, Emma Ribom and Maja Dahlqvist. As you know, Frida is sharper at longer distances, which also Ebba Andersson is. All these skaters have the opportunity to secure good positions, perhaps even medals, at the WC next month.

When Sportbibeln asks Viaplay’s ski expert Anna-Karin Strömstedtformer cross-country skier and biathlete, to point out who is actually the best in Sweden right now, she has a little difficulty deciding.
– It is very difficult to say. If you look at the traditional skating, it is Ebba and Frida who are our two absolute strongest, she says.
Strömstedt about Karlsson and Andersson
In the end, she arrives at the skater who she thinks has the highest level, and thus can be classified as “best”.
– I have been asked many times about who is the best, it is just as difficult to answer it every time. It is clear that Frida has qualities that Ebba does not. For example, she is sharper in a sprint. Ebba has a harder time asserting herself there, so it will probably be different depending on the type of distance, she says.

In the end, it is Frida Karlsson who gets her vote.
– It is largely because she has these qualities that she can sprint well and she can sprint in a different way than what Ebba might not be good at. It’s more that she is a bit more all-round than Ebba is.
Who do you think is the best in Sweden on the women’s side? And who is the best on the men’s side? Feel free to write a comment and justify your answer.
