Björn Ferry has stopped competing himself and instead comments on biathlon.
Former teammate Anna-Carin Zidek has followed his television appearances.
– You have to take that with a pinch of salt, she says to Sportbibeln.
Anna-Carin Zidek, formerly Anna-Carin Olofsson, and Bjorn Ferry have bumped into each other a lot. They were both at the top of the biathlon world in the 2000s and early 2010s, and both have fine track records.

Zidek was active between 2002-2011, and Ferry between 2001-2014. Together they have won both WC gold and WC bronze in the mixed relay – in Antholz 2007 and Chanty-Mansijsk 2010. The team also found Helena Ekholm and Carl-Johan Bergman. In addition to that, “ACO” as she is called, has won four WC and two Olympic medals. Ferry’s corresponding numbers are one in the WC and one in the Olympics.

After her biathlon career, Anna-Carin has left the spotlight and now works as a teacher and coach at a skiing high school in Härjedalen. But Björn publishes books and works for SVT as an expert commentator on the channel’s biathlon broadcasts.
The expert Björn
ACO, who still follows skiing from a distance, has seen some of his former teammate as an expert on the telecasts.
– I think he is good. If there is anyone who knows old results and so on, it is Björn. He keeps track of all that stuff – times and so on. Then he makes certain comments, maybe sometimes like, like with Wolfgang Pichler (former biathlon coach), you can bring a new salt.

Do you think Ferry can be a little too harsh at times?
– No, but I think he is quite honest and says what he thinks, he is straight from the heart. As an expert commentator, he has to express exactly what he thinks, says Anna-Carin Zidek.
Do you hear anything today?
– No, not directly, we don’t.
