Just days before the election, the survey came that shook things up.
Kamala Harris was predicted to win Iowa, which two elections in a row went to Donald Trump.
But Trump won comfortably again – and now the opinion firm is poodle.
Ann Selzer has been called the “queen of polling” and is an authority in the important US polling industry.
When her poll showed that Harris was the favorite to take home Iowa, a shock wave went through the Trump camp.

Won easily
According to the survey from the company Selzer & Co, Harris had a lead in Iowa by three percentage points, to the great surprise of the experts.
The reality was different.
Trump won a landslide victory with just over 13 percentage points in the state. When 99 percent of the votes were counted, Trump had taken home 55.8 percent compared to Harris’ 42.6.
He was able to count a comfortable win in Iowa in what has turned out to be a landslide victory in the election.
Then Ann Selzer poodled.
– Tonight, of course, I’m thinking about how we ended up here, she says in a statement.

Success before
Selzer and her team have yet to draw any conclusions about what could have gone so wrong.
– I will review data from multiple sources in hopes of understanding why it happened. And I welcome what I can learn from that process.
The opinion firm previously had a high reputation in the industry and between the years 2008 and 2020 was able to correctly predict the right winner in the presidential election.
In the 2016 election, when Trump first shockingly won and then lost, the institute was one of the few to predict the unexpected results.
