Anja Pärson’s tough love message during the Master of Masters – now admits the truth with wife Filippa: “We are not…”

She is very current in SVT’s Mästarnas mäster right now.
But Anja Pärsson also admits the tough love message with his wife Filippa.
– There are no couples who feel good all the time, she tells Hemmets Journal.

Anja Pärson can look back on an absolutely fantastic sports career. With an incredible 19 Olympic and WC medals in alpine skiing and two overall victories at the World Cup, she is one of our top skiing heroes of all time.

Anja’s love message

Right now, she is very current as one of the participants in the SVT hit program “Master of Masters”. After turning down the TV channel for many years, we now get to see Anja make up for it in tough competition from this year’s season, which is tougher than usual.

But alongside the television cameras, Pärson now admits the truth about his love affairs with his wife Filippa Rådin. They have been a couple for over 15 years and got married in 2014, together they have the children Emma, Elvis and Maximilian.

Pörson now admits

The love still burns strong, but Anja reveals that the couple is going to couples therapy and has been doing so for several years.
– None of us are the same as we were when we met, but I feel that the older you get together, the more similar you become to each other, she says in an interview with Hemmets Journal.
– We are not naive, we understand that neither life nor a relationship is always at its best. But we challenge each other and develop all the time, both as a couple and as individuals. Filippa and I know that we want to live the rest of our lives together and should something arise between us, we have the ability to always be able to talk to each other.

Anja Pärson tells us that they are going to therapy in order to develop the relationship further.
– We go there when we feel we need a third party. It’s nice to have tools with you and we want to show others that it’s not a particularly big deal to go to a therapist, not least for preventive purposes, says the alpine legend.
– There are no couples who feel good all the time. But we are who we are and it is important to de-dramatize certain things sometimes. An advantage is that we are very good at lifting each other up and that we know each other inside and out.

Back to the Masters of Masters again, Anja describes this year’s participants as a very lovely bunch.
– Already when we all met at Arlanda, we felt how we bonded. There were many deep and big conversations right from the start, she says in the interview and can later regret that she did not train more for the physically demanding TV show.
– I hadn’t trained that hard, so I can’t say that I felt any kind of advantage. As an old elite athlete, you always feel like an active athlete in your head, but your body somehow doesn’t keep up and is rather like that of a pensioner.
