“This exemption is intended for monitoring and distribution research, ecological research and activities aimed at conserving and mapping sustainable populations of native mammals,” Animal Rights said. “However, in the present case it is not about research into species, but about one specific individual. It also concerns another legal interest, namely public safety, deterring an individual to protect dogs and people.” Animal Rights therefore concludes that the wolf cannot be stunned and tagged based on the June exemption.
