In 2019, SVT Nyheter Blekinge was able to reveal that Blekinge’s exotic world displayed several wild animals without valid permits. Earlier in September this year, the men were charged with species protection offences. Now the men are banned from animals for life.
According to the county administrative board, the men have seriously neglected their animals. Among other things, dead and emaciated monkeys were found in a freezer.
Criticized by the county board
During seven checks between 2016 and 2021, deficiencies in the operations could be identified. In the decision, the county administrative board believes that the men “lack the will and ability to take care of any animal”, writes P4 Blekinge.
Within six weeks, the men must dispose of the remaining animals.
