Luz, author of “Two naked girls” was awarded the prestigious golden fawn, which rewards the best album of the year. Who are the winners of the 52nd edition of the International Comic Strip Festival?
52e edition of Angoulême Festival rewarded the album Two naked girls of Luzdesigner survivor of the attack on January 7, 2015 in Charlie Hebdo. The French author, who has since converted into a comic book designer, succeeds the American Daniel Clowes, who distinguished himself last year with his biographical story Monica. A victory which therefore takes the tricolor scarf and celebrates the “artistic Renaissance” of the former press designer.
Two naked girls published by Albin Michel, therefore won the Golden Fauve of the 52nd edition of the International Comic Strip Festival in Angoulême. The album is a “historical investigation”, almost “a political thriller”, on a survivor: a painting which crossed the 20th century, work of art painted in 1919 by Otto Mueller, an artist characterized by “degenerate” by the Nazis. The album retraces its whole story, from the painter who creates him to the Nazis who manipulate him politically, passing by the collector who is forced to part with it, by the people who steal it and those who hide it … “C ‘is a declaration of love for art, “explains Luz on the page of his publisher. The album brilliantly features the “subjective case” (which can be related to the “subjective camera” in the cinema) which shows what is in front of the painting, which is like “a window on the world around him, “he explains again.
The reader revels in all the events, unhappy and sometimes happy, crossed by this silent witness. “I wanted to make a story of history but, in fact, it is topical,” exclaimed Luz, at the end of the award ceremony. “We are not going to be swallowed up by Musk, Trump and Macron”. The album had already received the Wolinski Prize from the BD of the point and the Grand Prix of the Association of Critics and Journalists from comics.

Who is Anouk Ricard, Grand Prix of the 2025 Angoulême Festival?
52e edition of Angoulême comic strip festival rewarded the French author Anouk Ricard of the highest distinction. The Grand Prix of the 2025 Festival has rewarded since 1974 a comic book author for all of his work. Praise For His funny children’s series Anna and Froga settling From a little girl in fringe and her anthropomorphic animal friends and having already received the special Angoulême jury prize in 2023 for her animal album, La French designer succeeds the British Pose Simmonds, author of Gemma Bovery (1999) and Tamara Drewe (2007).
Her finalist opponents were Catherine Meurisse and Alison Bechdel. A two -round ballot by the comic book authors published in French has decided. “I did not expect to be a finalist, even less to win, it is the consecration, I do not see any highest distinction in comics and in France!”, She was delighted with Telerama. Anouk Ricard thus becomes the 6th woman in history to obtain the price.
Aged 54, the author, a graduate in 1995 of the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg, began her career as a youth illustrator. His offbeat and absurd humor conquered the adult public as a child. Indeed, after starting with the series for young children Anna and Frogashe embarked on adult comics, with TOUMI Commissionera parody of adult thriller published by Sarbacane in 2008, featuring a cheesy bachelor subject to nightmares, then Coucous Bouzon published by Gallimard. His style is recognizable by his simple and expressive, falsely naive feet, approaching themes ranging from childhood to everyday life, punctuated by crazy situations.
