Ängelholms FF and Rögle BK want to bet on the girls – starting a local sports profile at the high school

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

Ebba Starck and her friends play in Ängelholms FF’s team F14 and will start high school next year.

They think the local sports profile at the high school seems good, as the national sports education that already exists at the high school only offers four places for girls per year.

– We are expanding with a course and it needs to be taught by someone from us in collaboration with a trained instructor in the sport the girls practice, says Susanne Åkesson, principal at Ängelholm’s high school.

“We need to elevate girls’ sports”

Kalle Hansson is a youth leader at Ängelholms FF and thinks it is important to invest in girls in football.

– If you look at women’s football or hockey, it hasn’t existed for so long, and we have to catch up with the men. This makes things much easier with an offer to bet on the girls, says Kalle Hansson.

Why is it so important?

– Equal terms. Why should the men have it better than the girls? says Kalle Hansson.

“It’s nice that they invest in the girls”

The sports profile in the school will offer a session in the morning of the week in collaboration with Ängelholms FF and Rögle BK. Location may vary depending on the structure of the course.

– It’s very fun that they invest in the girls, says Ebba Starck, who plays outside midfielder in ÄFF.
