Talking about childhood and the influence of a father on his daughter, while delivering a poignant and feminist vision – this could be the summary of the film Paula, already noticed at the Nouvelles Vagues international festival in Biarritz. For her first film, Angela Ottobah navigates between horrific thriller and semi-autobiographical tale, with the setting of a house lost in the middle of a dark and threatening forest, like the father towards his daughter.
