One of Swedish sports’ finest prizes is to be shared.
Then Olympic gold hero Anette Norberg chooses Armand Duplantis and highlights another candidate instead.
– He fits very well, says Anette to Sportbibeln.
Soon it will be time for the annual Sports Gala, where Sweden’s top athletes are to be celebrated and praised. The Swedish sports year 2024 has also been extremely successful, so it will be tough to choose between the blue and yellow achievements.
Appoint the Jerring Prize
The Summer Olympics in Paris were of course the big moment of the year and there Sweden reaped great success. Armand Duplantis offered a completely unforgettable evening with Olympic gold and a new world record in pole vaulting, Sarah Sjostrom won double Olympic gold in swimming, the beach volleyball boys David Ohman and Jonathan Hellvig took a historic Olympic gold and Truls Möregårdh won double Olympic silver in table tennis.

“Mondo” has already been awarded with the glorious Bragdguldet and on Monday the Swedish people will choose who will win the Jerring Prize at the Sports Gala. Last year it was Ebba Andersson who took it home, but during an Olympic year, most of the evidence suggests that one of the Olympic medalists is the favorite for the award.

Nobbar Duplantis
The Swedish Olympic gold hero Annette Norbergwho sits in the brag animal, now gives his verdict on who will receive the prize. Then she opts out of Armand Duplantis, just as she did for the Bragdguldet, and would rather see another winner.
– Truls (Möregårdh) is very well suited, him or the entire table tennis team. They showed so much heart during the Olympics and at the Jerring Prize you vote more with your heart than with facts. But what the Swedish people think, it is very difficult, says Norberg in an interview with Sportbibeln.

The curling legend is split on Mondo’s performance in the Olympics.
– No one is surprised that he wins Olympic gold, everyone knew that, and that he breaks world records when he decides to, everyone also knows that he has it in him, she says.
When she is reminded of the summer Olympics, it is instead two other achievements that she highlights as greater.
– I was most involved in table tennis and followed everything. Second most was for Sarah’s gold in the 100 meter freestyle. From not even applying to going and winning the whole thing is incredibly impressive, says Anette in the interview.
