After her incredible curling career, Anette Norberg has appeared in various television programs.
But there has never been – and never will be – anything Masked Singer.
– My son has forbidden me from singing in public, says Norberg to Sportbibeln.
Annette Norberg, 56, is one of Sweden’s best curling players of all time. She has won two Olympic golds, in 2006 and 2010, and has nine World Cup medals, three of which are gold. Norberg was also successful in European championships, where she has a total of twelve medals, seven of which are gold.
After curling
The first EC that she competed in was 1984. Norberg ended her career in connection with the WC gold in 2011. She was thus at the top of the curling world for 27 years. After his long, fine career, Norberg tried other things, such as being on television.

During the Olympics in Sochi 2014, Anette was an expert curling commentator.
– I thought that was great fun. We got very good reviews when we commented, because I actually commented together with another curler, who works in the television world. So we were two curlers sitting there, and I thought we had a great collaboration and it was a lot of fun. So it is something that I would like to do in the future.
– I actually think it’s a shame that I haven’t had the opportunity to continue with it. But I haven’t received any requests after that, Norberg tells Sportbibeln.
Norberg’s joy of dancing
In addition to the gig as an expert commentator, the 56-year-old has been in several competition programs, such as Let’s Dance in 2013, Mästarnas Mästare in 2015 and Superstars in 2018. But Norberg is not planning any more television appearances in the future.
– There is nothing directly that I feel that “this is what I would absolutely like to do” right now, of the programs that are ongoing. But it’s clear, if something were to appear that I would think “this would be super fun”, you never know. Then I don’t know what it would be right now.

It was different when she was asked to take part in Let’s Dance.
– Then it was something that I really wanted to do, had wanted to do and dreamed of doing. But it’s probably also the only program that I’ve had that attitude towards, says Anette with a laugh.
Then I probably know the answer, but what is your favorite show that you have been on?
– Yes, you know that now!

Refuses Masked Singer
Norberg says that participating in Mästarnas Mästare was also fun, but not on the Let’s Dance level. Especially considering her mood at the time of the recording.
– It was quite close to my cancer. And it was the first time in Mästarnas Mästare that I talked about it in public, plus I was far from any reasonable physical shape when I did that program.

The multiple world champion has also received a request of interest to appear on the acclaimed music and entertainment program Masked Singer on TV4. But then it became a friendly but firm no.
– It was not relevant. Above all, my son, who is a professional opera singer, has forbidden me to sing in public and he would not have allowed me to participate, says Norberg with a good laugh before she continues:
– Those who do these castings on TV usually have a pretty good idea, and he also sang when I danced in Let’s Dance. So I think they assumed I could sing because I have a professional singer son, but not everything is inherited apparently! I really can’t sing, and I’d never put myself to it either, because I know how bad it sounds.
“It is said…”
So we won’t see you in Masked Singer in the future either?
– No, I promise! Otherwise, I have to start taking singing lessons, it is said that everyone can learn to sing, but then I will probably have to start working very hard at it in that case, says Norberg.
