Recently, the number of frauds has increased significantly. In 2023, the number of reports of people exposed to some form of fraud increased by 22 percent, to a breathtaking 238,000.

BankID’s warns of fraudsters
To curb the risk of being exposed to the fraudster, who wants you to identify yourself digitally, sign or share sensitive information, BankID has added a warning text to the app:
“Protect your BankID. Never use your BankID at the request of someone who contacts you,” it says.

So you can use BankID instead
In order to even be able to identify yourself and complete signatures, a default login method is required. The most common is to then use a personal code, which only you should know.
But the fact is that there are other ways to log in, sign and sign.
For example, if you use an iPhone and have your BankID app on your phone, you can use facial recognition, also known as FaceID.
If you have an Android phone instead, you can use fingerprints.
If, for example, you are an Android user and choose to use fingerprints when signing, banks and authorities may still require you to use a personal code. This is because it is the service you sign or identify yourself with that determines the degree of security.

Fingerprint in BankID? That’s the advantage
However, using fingerprints when logging in, signing or signing can have its advantages after all.
For one thing, you don’t have to enter the code among people if you need to use BankID when you’re on the go. For one thing, you don’t have to remember the code, if you have a poor memory, for example. In addition, it can be an advantage for those of you who have impaired vision or have difficulty using the touch screen to enter the numbers for your personal code, to change the approach.
