Android apps arrive Microsoft deploys the Amazon Appstore in early

Last October, Microsoft launched with great fanfare the new version of its operating system. Unfortunately for the Redmond firm, Windows 11 was obviously not 100% ready yet since a number of features were not available at launch.

Of these, perhaps the most anticipated was the ability to download and run Android apps on Windows. It finally took several weeks for the Amazon Appstore to start rolling out, but only to US members of the Insider program.

Four months later, Microsoft appears to be well on its way to more widely rolling out Amazon’s Android app store, with which it has partnered. The Amazon Appstore is indeed officially available on the Microsoft Store, in early access. It currently allows access to just over 1000 Android applications and games on Windows 11.

To get it, you have to go to Windows Update to update the operating system, then open the Microsoft Store to start downloading and installing updates. Microsoft’s app store should then update and restart. You can then search and install the Amazon Appstore.

Unfortunately for us, if it is possible to download it from France, Amazon’s Android application store is obviously not yet officially accessible in France.
