The mobilization led to many fleeing the country. But long before that, already after the start of the war last spring, Sami activist Andrei Danilov fled to Norway.

– It was a difficult decision that I had thought about for a long time, but it was necessary to save my life. There had already been several attempts to silence me. To stop telling the truth about what is happening in Russia and to stop fighting for the rights of the Sami, he says.

He is now afraid that he will never be able to return to his homeland.
