Andreas Kramer with a giant race – wonderful display before the Summer Olympics

Andreas Kramer hit a new season’s best during the Continental Tour competition in Turku, Finland, on Tuesday evening – and was not far from his Swedish record.
– I am very satisfied, but of course I wanted to run a little faster, he says.

Andreas Kramer won the 800-meter race in a time of 1.44.65 and was not far from his personal record, also the Swedish record, from 2020 which reads 1.44.47.
– I am very satisfied with the time. Of course I wanted to run a little better, but it’s a good race, says the Swede in the organizer’s TV broadcast.

Kramer looked strong throughout the race and on the break no one could pass, even the Irishman Mark English who finished second approached. Benjamin RobertFrance, was third.
– I had to lean a little over the finish line, says Kramer about the finish.

Even the sprinter Henrik Larsson was underway in Turku, but the Swede – who finished third in his semi-final at 100 meters – chose to withdraw from the final.
– Nothing serious has happened. I got a feeling, which I felt before too, in my attempt and withdrew from the final so as not to risk anything, he tells TT.

However, the feeling should not be a concern before the Olympics that await.
– I really don’t think so, absolutely not, says Larsson.

Thunder came third

In the three-stage competition stood Maja Lightning for a nice effort. Her 14.06 was enough for third place in the event – ​​and would have been a season’s best had it not been for the tailwind being too strong to count.

Shanieka RickettsJamaica, won in 14.17, and Daria DerkachItaly, was second with 14.08.

At 3,000 meters hurdles ran Emil Blomberg in third in 8.21.40, having been sprinted down just before the finish line by the runner-up Ben BuckinghamAustralia. Abraham Semethe Ethiopian, won.
