The past year has been so incredibly impressive for the track and field athlete Andreas Almgren. He is in the shape of his life and has broken treadmill records at several different distances.
Almgren’s success
The 28-year-old is already ready for the Olympics in the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters and will come to this summer’s Olympic championships in Paris in great shape. Two weeks ago he broke his own Swedish record in the 5,000 meters with 12.59.82 on the clock.
On Thursday evening, he broke that record with a new super time during the Diamond League gala in Oslo. Almgren finished in an incredible 12.50.94 and beat his own record by nine(!) seconds.
Paying tribute to Duplantis

Almgren now pays tribute to “Mondo” in the very best way with one of the most beautiful descriptions we’ve ever heard of the Swedish world star in pole vaulting.
– He is the best of all time. It’s amazing how he manages to dominate so completely. He is unique, to be so good and at the same time so humble. He is kind, humble, generous and funny. He is quite relaxed and the ultimate role model for what a world star should be. He is a very good figurehead for athletics, says Almgren to Sportbibeln.
