Andrea Möllerberg is fired from the Swedish Football Association

The Swedish Football Association’s general secretary Andrea Möllerberg is fired.
According to the union board, “trust has been spent”.
“The federal board is unanimously behind the decision after a careful and collective assessment,” says chairman Fredrik Reinfeldt.

Andrea Mollerberg assumed the role on November 1, 2023 and has had several strategic projects and change work during his time in the post, the Swedish Football Association writes on its website.

However, the time as general secretary has not been friction-free. Her work has affected confidence in her leadership.

In the end, the federal board took the decision to “terminate Andrea Möllerberg’s assignment”.
“It is the board’s responsibility to ensure the future of the Swedish Football Association’s organization,” he says Fredrik Reinfeldtchairman of the board in a statement to the website.

The association also writes that “the recruitment process for a new general secretary will begin shortly” and there the association’s board wants to focus on strengthening the organization and “creating the conditions for Swedish football to continue to develop”.
