STAR WARS ANDOR. During Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm showed off a trailer and announced the release date for its Star Wars Andor series starring Diego Luna. Here’s what you need to know about the project.
Held in Anaheim at the end of May, the Star Wars Celebration is the place to learn more about current Star Wars projects at Lucasfilm. And the 2022 edition gave many news about its future series including Star Wars Andor, dedicated to the character of Cassian Andor that the public had discovered in the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. For the occasion, Tony Gilroy, showrunner and creator of the series, will be interested in the character played by Diego Luna 5 years before the events that occurred in Rogue One. Lucasfilm announced during Star Wars Celebration that the first two episodes of Star Wars Andor will air simultaneously on August 31, 2022.
The official synopsis for the series was revealed along with the trailer. Here is the translation: “The Andor series will explore a new perspective on the Star Wars galaxy and will center on the journey of Cassian Andor to discover how he can be useful. The series tells the story of a rising rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets have engaged in battle. This is a time full of danger, deception and conspiracy where Cassian will embark on the path that will make him a hero of the Rebellion.”
