The acclaimed series returns very quickly for its second and last season. We take stock of what we know.
There is not a year without going back to the universe Star Wars. After the highly criticized The acolytethe very distant galaxy returns to a formula approved in 2025. As of April 23, Disney ++ subscribers will be able to discover the new season ofAndor. The first had been acclaimed by criticism and the public, and remains unanimously recognized as one of the best series Star Wars To date (if not the best).
In this season 2, which will be broadcast in the salvo of four episodes, we find Cassian Andor while he becomes a key actor of the Rebel Alliance. But while the war is imminent, the issues rise and lead their share of sacrifices, betrayals and conflicts. The second season of the acclaimed series Star Wars will come and conclude the series. In this suite ofAndorthe war is imminent and Cassian becomes a key actor of the rebel alliance, five years before the events of Rogue One, A Star Wars Story. But the conflict will come to bring its share of betrayals, sacrifices and conflicts of interest when the issues become greater than ever.
In the casting of this season 2, we find Diego Luna (Cassian Andor), Stellan Skarsgård (Luthen Rael), Genevieve O’Reilly (Mon Mathma), Denise Gough (Dedra Mero), Kyle Soller (Syril Karn), Adria Arjona (Bix Cafan), Faye Marsay (Vel Sartha), Varada Sethu Kaz), Elizabeth Dulau (Kleya Marki), Alan Tudyk (K-2SO), Ben Mendelsohn (Orson Krennic) and Forest Whitaker (Saw Gerrera). The first season ofAndor started its broadcast on September 21, 2022 and ended on November 23, 2022 on Disney+. It took less than 3 years to discover the rest. The first three episodes of season 2 are indeed posted on April 23, 2025 on the platform of streaming Disney+. At the rate of three episodes broadcast each week, the series will conclude on Wednesday May 14, 2025.

In Rogue One: A Star Wars Storywe discovered the character of Cassian Andor, then captain of the rebellious alliance this movement which seeks to put the Galactic Empire outside of harm. He was responsible for a difficult mission: killing the father of Jyn Erso, experienced as responsible for the creation of the Death Star, a gigantic orbital machine capable of destroying planets. A morally ambiguous character because capable of carrying out everything to carry out his missions, Cassian Andor ended up getting closer to Jyn Erso while the two characters were swept away in the tumult of a battle aimed at recovering the plans of the Death Star necessary for its destruction. It should also be noted that the series Andor begins 5 years before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This is ONC of a series in the form of a prologue to better understand who is Cassian Andor at the start of Rogue One.
The Andor series explores a new perspective on the Star Wars galaxy and focuses on the trip of Cassian Andor to discover how it can be useful. The series narrates the story of an emerging rebellion in the face of the Empire and how the people and the planets engaged in the fight. It is a period full of dangers, deceptions and plots where Cassian will embark on the path that will make him a hero of rebellion.
The series Andor acts as a prologue to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. In fact, it is not necessarily necessary to have seen the film by Gareth Edwards to take advantage of its history but it is likely that the series makes references to the film, references that connoisseurs will necessarily decceive better.
What are the productions Star Wars to have seen before the series? Apart from Rogue One: A Star Wars Storyit would seem logical to have seen at least Revenge of the Sith And A new hope. These two films chronologically supervise the series and give important information on the creation of the Galactic Empire, for which the rebellion is fighting. To go a little further, we can possibly watch the few episodes of the animation series Star Wars Clone Wars dedicated to Saw Gerrera, a character already appeared in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story And who returns in Andor. We can therefore advantageously watch episodes 2, 3, 4 and 5 of season 5. This is not compulsory, however.
Andor takes place in a period when the empire is dominant everywhere in the galaxy. The objective of the emperor aims to curb any attempt at insurrection and takes advantage of his network of spies to kill any rebellious cell in the egg. In this context, the emerging rebellion needs financial support but also soldiers ready to risk everything to advance the cause. Cassian Andor, who lives on the planet Ferrix, quickly sees himself embedded in a rebellious cell which aims to hit a big blow within the imperial system.
