The Social Democrats in Botkyrka are in an infected conflict. The background is reports of serious abuses at leisure farms run by ABF. An external review showed in 2022 that gang criminals were staying on the premises. Group leader Ebba Östlin then stopped ABF from running the farms.
Östlin was voted down in a vote of confidence in the party in Botkyrka in January this year, and resigned a few weeks later as chairman of the municipal board. Her supporters claimed that she was ousted in a coup with the help of people with links to gang crime.
Those who voted down Östlin dismissed it and referred instead to criticism of her leadership style.
Emanuel Ksiazkiewicz was elected in mid-March this year as the new group leader for S in Botkyrka, with the vote numbers 121 against 80 for Östlin.
Last Wednesday, nine S members in Botkyrka left the party and became political savages. Last Friday, about 40 members announced that they are quitting the party.
