“A terrible crime has taken place in Eskilstuna tonight. A woman and a child have been shot at a playground. The brutal and wanton violence that plagues our society must end. My thoughts go out to the victims and their relatives,” writes Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson (S) in a comment to TT.

“Shooting children is never an individual case but an attack on our entire society. And when society is attacked, society must also defend itself, with all the means that our rule of law has at its disposal,” continues the prime minister.

Critical of the government

KD leader Ebba Busch criticizes the government.

Arranges election meeting in Eskilstuna

Jimmie Åkesson (SD) calls the act “so grotesque, so dark, so horrific, that there are no words to describe it”.
