The meeting on Sweden’s security policy situation began at 5 p.m. The party leaders were informed about the security situation due to the demonstrations and threats directed at Sweden after the recent weeks’ actions in Stockholm.
– We are in a very serious situation in Sweden and I am prepared to support the government in every way I can in this situation. Unfortunately, I can state that the SD, which sits in the government’s inner cabinet, is acting in the opposite way, the Social Democrats’ party leader Magdalena Andersson told TT on the way into the meeting.
A statement that was met with criticism from SD party leader Jimmie Åkesson,
– I have not caused anything in this process, so I have not been reprimanded for it, Åkesson answers the question if he received criticism during the meeting.
The Social Democrats’ party leader stands by her statement even after the meeting, although she believes that it is important that everyone cooperates in this situation.
– That the Sweden Democrats have put party political interests ahead of Sweden’s interests during this crisis, we have all seen that with the statements they have made.
