Anders Södergren injures himself – the images viewers were not allowed to see

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Formerly the cross-country skier Anders Södergren is the athlete on the blue team and therefore has to take on what is described as one of Fort Boyard’s toughest cells. But he is unlucky and falls!
— I got stuck in something and hit a Plexiglas box, Gunde said it was. It really narrowed the chin! But it was pitch black, so I didn’t know how bad it was, Anders Södergren tells Sweden news.

Continues to compete – despite the injury
Competitive person that he is, he still runs the cell – and passes it!
— I thought it would be a real pork lip, just. It was nice that I passed the cell anyway! It might make for good TV, he jokes.
When he comes up to the others, he sees from Agneta Sjödin’s reaction that the damage is worse than he thought.
— I was mostly disappointed because it was such a serious wound that it had to be stitched. It didn’t hurt too much. The slap itself hurt, but not afterwards, he says.

Forced to cancel and go to hospital
Anders is forced to cancel his participation in Fångarna på foret and is evacuated to a hospital on the mainland.
“It was sad to break up, you want to be with us all the way,” he says.
He could not communicate very well with the French staff at the hospital.
— But I had a Swede with me at the hospital who could translate. I felt safe, they sewed well. It was nice that I managed my teeth!

Can’t whistle anymore
The healing has gone well, but the damage is both visible and felt.
— The feeling is a little affected, I can still feel it. And it doesn’t look pretty. It’s still really swollen, there’s scar tissue inside. The wound was quite deep and they had to sew in two layers. I can’t whistle like before, but that’s the only function affected, he says.
The hospital stay meant that he missed his flight home in the evening and had to stay an extra day in France.

“Huge loss for our team”
His teammates were very impressed by Anders!
— I’ve never seen anyone with a better forehead! Blood spurts out and I think he’s going to pass out, but Anders – he’s done! He takes the key! What kind of human is that? He is a legend! says Margaux Dietz in the program.

— I feel really sad for Anders, he is so kind – an incredible person! It is a huge loss for our team, says Daniel Paris.
