After Anders Öfvergård kicked out of TV4 when he behaved inappropriately at a staff party, the “Angry Carpenter” got a second chance at his old workplace Kanal 5.
Anders had been given a new construction program to sink his teeth into. Namely, a Swedish version of the British format Renovation Nation. In Anders and Kanal 5’s taping, the program was named Renovation Dreams.
In the same vein that it became clear that Anders had got a new job at “five”, it was revealed that he had been arrested at Ica Maxi Värmdö, suspected of having stolen a couple of pieces of meat.
According to the manager of the Ica store in question, Anders was something of a work environment problem, and it was not the first time that he caused problems in the store.
In fact, the situation had been so stressful that the ICA manager went home and celebrated with Champagne after Anders was arrested, something that the guard who arrested Anders later told in questioning with the police.
At the end of the summer, Anders Öfvergård was sentenced for petty theft. The punishment was daily fines totaling SEK 40,000.
Mocked by Leif GW Persson live
The criminologist Leif GW Persson commented on the verdict on TV4, and he believed that the verdict was reasonable.
– When he shows up, special surveillance is put on him, by someone who has a lot of experience. He ends up being taken. He himself denies the deed, then he was sentenced a few days ago. Well, has he done it then? Yes, I’m probably pretty sure that’s a correct judgment. They have followed in detail what he has been up to. When he scans in, he follows a classic modus operandi, said Leif GW Persson.
GW also reacted to the fact that, before the trial, Öfvergård had brought in one of Sweden’s leading defense lawyers in the form of Johan Eriksson.
– For some reason he has Sweden’s foremost criminal lawyer Johan Eriksson. The court agrees, so I find it hard to believe he will appeal, GW said.
Leif GW Persson was convinced that Anders Öfvergård was calculated from the public.
– This is the most expensive meat theft ever. Now is not the time to be the Angry Carpenter. His loss of income will be several million, said GW, who believed that Anders Öfvergård would lose around 90 percent of his assignments.

But despite the “meat scandal”, the career has continued fine for Anders Öfvergård. He has been seen visiting Bianca Ingrosso popular talk show BIANCA and has also been part of the adventure reality show Över Atlanten.
In addition to some work, Anders is also busy on the “house front”. Nyheter24 recently reported that Öfvergård’s house on Värmdö is to be sold. On the broker’s website, the dream villa is described as a “Unique, architect-designed villa on the heights with a lake view and its own jetty”.
The villa consists of 10 rooms distributed over 310 square meters. In addition to that, the buyer gets a plot of over 4,000 square meters. But if it tastes good, it costs – the starting price is a juicy SEK 25 million.
