Just a few days before Midsummer 2023, he was arrested Anders Öfvergård at an Ica Maxi in Värmdö outside Stockholm.
Anders, or the “Angry Carpenter” as he is called, had only blip and paid for two pieces of meat out of the five he had put on himself.
News24 has seen the preliminary investigation report, and there it appeared that it was a customer who “regularly steals goods in the store”.

In questioning, the shop inspector, who works as a security guard and was in civilian clothes, said that he was contacted by the shop manager who asked him to “keep a close eye on a person who entered the shop”. That person thus turned out to be Anders Öfvergård.
– The store manager said that I should point-mark him because we have had problems with him in the past, the store supervisor told the interrogation.

After Öfvergård was arrested, the manager at Ica Maxi celebrated with Champagne. This as Öfvergård has been a work environment problem for the employees. At random meetings, he could become rude and unpleasant.
At one point he dropped the ICA cash registers and ran.
– They had noticed him before. The Ica trader said he was going home and celebrating with champagne because it was finally over. This is precisely because he had been so aggressive, rude and unpleasant when confronted that they were not allowed to intervene against him anymore because of the work environment. That’s how I understood it, said the shop supervisor in questioning.

Anders Öfvergård brought in one of Sweden’s foremost lawyers in the form of the defense attorney Johan Eriksson. Among Eriksson’s famous and infamous clients is, among others, the terrorist Rakhmat Akilovthe SD politician Kent Ekeroth, the mass murderer Mattias Flink and one of the men convicted of the murder of the 12-year-old Adriana.
Despite being a top lawyer, Anders Öfvergård was convicted of petty theft – to a sky-high fine of a total of SEK 40,000.

In Nyhetsmorgon, the criminologist commented Leif GW Persson the verdict drew attention, with GW calling it “the costliest meat theft ever”.
– This is the most expensive meat theft ever. Now is not the time to be the Angry Carpenter. His loss of income will be several million, said GW, who guessed that Öfvergård would lose around 90 percent of his assignments.
But that did not happen.

Anders Öfvergård’s TV jobs have continued to flow in, and he has appeared in Över Atlanten and his own program Renovation Dreams on Kanal 5. Financially speaking, Anders Öfvergård is also in no great need.

Nyheter24 has taken note of the Tax Agency’s latest data, and there it appears that Anders Öfvergård in 2023 had a determined earned income of a little more than one million kroner – or 1,019,300 kroner to be exact.
This gives the TV profile a hefty monthly salary of SEK 84,941. In addition to that, he had a surplus of capital of SEK 250,919.
It is actually a lift from the year before. In 2022, he had a fixed earned income of SEK 901,400. Anders Öfvergård has thus increased its annual income by 117,900.
In previous years, the salary has been even higher, in 2019 he earned 1,250,272 and in 2020 the annual income landed at 1,015,500 kroner. In the preliminary investigation protocol – concerning the meat theft – which Nyheter24 has seen, it also appeared that Öfvergård has a fortune of SEK 45 million.
In addition, he is active in the company Öfvergård Konsult AB. There it was according to All companies in 2022 assets of over SEK 10 million.
