On the second of October, it’s time for a new season of Robinson, where Petra Malm is again the host and this week we found out which participants we will be following during the fall. At the time of writing, filming is also underway for the spring season of Robinson, where Anders Lundin is at the helm.
And over in the Philippines, Anders has now been part of something that started as, what he himself describes, a really bad idea. During the night he changed his wedding ring finger because it was itchy and when he woke up he couldn’t get the ring off. While filming, his finger swelled up and doctors were called in.
The videos from the Philippines
In videos directly from the Philippines, we see how a whole team of doctors tries with all means to get the ring off Anders’ finger.
– I’m losing my finger, I changed my wedding ring finger and now my right hand is swelling up. It’s about seconds apparently. It’s like a boa constrictor hugging my ring finger on my right hand, says the presenter.
After trying to get the ring off with both ice and petroleum jelly, members of the Philippine security team came out with wire and tape in the hope that wrapping the finger tightly would loosen the ring. But nothing seemed to work.
– It’s a perfect wedding ring. Easy to get on, hard to get off, Anders jokes in the middle of all the pressure.
Therefore, Anders is forced to take a boat to the carpentry shop on the mainland, where they try in various ways to pry the ring away with pliers, before finally being forced to cut it off.
Anders Lundin’s wedding ring had to be cut off.

“Apparently the doctors say it was in a hurry”
– I don’t know if it’s a “happy ending”, but it’s a good reason to fix it and celebrate a new wedding day instead of the one we forgot, says Anders after he finally takes off the ring.
Anders and his wife Kerstin Lundin Ryhed celebrated 20 years of marriage this summer, a wedding day that was forgotten but is now given the opportunity to celebrate again – and luckily enough with five fingers on each hand.
– Apparently the doctors say that it was quite urgent, otherwise the tissue would have broken and I would have lost my finger, I was not prepared for that at all. I thought we were going to work on today, get it done and take it later. I thank Dr. Annika that I still have five fingers left on this hand, he says.
