Anders Ekborg in tears after the jurys words in Masterkock

Every Wednesday we see some of Sweden’s most popular celebrities cooking in Sweden’s Master Chef VIP. They compete to win SEK 100,000 to donate to a charity of their choice.

– The participants in this year’s season create pure magic in the kitchen and offer really exciting cooking, has Mischa Billing previously said in a press release.

And of course there is excellent cooking on offer. The praise flows, so much so that one participant is really touched.

The participant Anders Ekborgs mother Lola came from poor circumstances and therefore it was common for her to offer home cooking in its simplicity.

When Anders was only nine years old, his father died of cancer. Then Anders and mother Lola traveled to Las Palmas where he got to eat the best thing he’s ever eaten – and that’s exactly the dish he offers when the participants have to cook a dish from their childhood.

The best dish he tasted in Las Palmas, as a nine-year-old, was a whole roast beef fillet with raw fried potatoes, garlic butter and aubergine puree – which is also what he offers the jury.

Tittarilska vs. Sweden’s master chef VIP participant: “Disgusting”

Anders Ekborg: “Very moved”

There really is a story behind Anders’ childhood rights and he is very touched by the jury’s kind words.

– When you judge food in Sweden’s Master Chef, Chef of the Year or other contexts, you sometimes get certain dishes that there is not much to say about, because it is so obvious. This is such a dish, especially when it is so incredibly well prepared, says Tom Sjöstedt about the right.

Tom believes that it is clear that Anders has cooked the dish many times and was not only allowed to eat it in Las Palmas. It’s a nice memory that has continued to be prepared and developed.

– Cooking is like being on stage, you stand with your heart in your hand. Everything is invested so that it is as good as possible for the audience or for the person eating the food. When you are understood and when they feel it, you are moved, Anders says with a trembling voice and tells that he is very moved.

– Mamma Lola would have been proud, I think, very happy. I guess she is, up there somewhere.

We on News24 are convinced that mother Lola is proud!
