Jonna Sundling is back again.
On Tuesday, she was selected for the Swedish national ski team again.
But now the SVT expert Anders Blomquist is voicing his great concern after the announcement.
It was at the end of November that Jonna Sundling went on a positive covid notice. The 28-year-old only made it to the World Cup premiere in Finnish Ruka before the illness struck.
Blomquist’s concern
Since then, the Swedish ski star has been forced to sit out all World Cup races and concerns for the entire season have grown. On Tuesday, which saw the long-awaited happy news when the Swedish national ski team announced its new squad and Sundling’s name was included.

The sprint specialist is selected for the Tour de Ski, but not everyone agrees that this is good news. SVT’s seasoned ski expert Anders Blomquist now raises a warning finger.
Sundling back
He is not at all convinced that Sundling is ready for a comeback and criticizes the national ski team for being far too eager.
– I’m not sure if it’s the right decision, I hope it’s right, but I think you take big risks even if she’s been away for a long time, but a tour is several tough competitions, Blomquist tells SVT Sport.

“The flower”, as he is called, therefore does not see Sundling as a contender for overall victory in the Tour de Ski. Instead, it is about four other national team colleagues.
– In advance, Frida (Karlsson) and Ebba (Andersson) are the biggest Swedish hopes, but I think that Emma Ribom and Linn Svahn can be very exciting to follow, he says to the TV channel.
– There are big question marks surrounding Frida Karlsson and she must be healthy and have a body that works.
She is a favorite
Frida Karlsson recently went for covid too but came back quickly and has been racing ever since. But did not at all meet the expectations and stood this weekend over the 10 kilometer race in Trondheim.

Therefore, Anders Blomquist also does not believe that Frida is a contender for the overall victory and to defend her reigning champion title from last year’s Tour de Ski.
– No, not considering the results she made and the disease. I think that Jessie Diggins is the biggest favorite but that Ebba Andersson is probably the one who challenges the hardest and could very well be first up Alpe Cermis, the TV profile admits.
