Facts: “Idol”
The autumn round will be the program’s 18th season in Sweden.
Program leader is Pär Lernström and Anis Don Demina acts as sidekick. The jury consists of Anders Bagge, Kishti Tomita, Alexander Kronlund and Katia Mosally.
Among this year’s news is that the qualifiers for the last final places will be broadcast live for several days in Kungsträdgården in Stockholm and that the final will move from the Globe and take place in the Tele2 arena.
TV4’s proven talent hunt offers several novelties this year. Among other things, the live qualifying week moves outdoors and the idols have to settle for the final tickets in front of an audience on a stage in Kungsträdgården in the middle of Stockholm.
“Suddenly they get to meet and feel an audience that will surely also grow over time. And in Kungsträdgården, a lot of people can gather. It’s a sharp situation, especially compared to during the pandemic when we hardly had any audience at all, says Anders Bagge.
“The World’s Greatest Final”
The final takes place in the Tele2 arena in Stockholm on November 25. According to TV4, it will be “the world’s biggest ‘Idol’ final”.
— I don’t know exactly how, everything is not nailed down and ready yet, but it will be big, says Anders Bagge.
“Other Eyes”
When he once again takes a seat on the jury, he does so with a newfound gravitas after his second place in the Melodifestivalen last spring, Bagge explains. He also believes that his words will carry more weight with the participants now that they know he is a real artist.
— This is perhaps the most exciting year ever for me personally precisely because I myself have had to stand up and be judged. Now I have also had to feel how it feels, how it can be an idol. I think I see and hear with different eyes and ears, he says.
This year’s “Idol” starts Monday at 8 pm on TV4.
