Analysis Did Trump just win the election Foreign countries

American voters have two images on their retinas. Fragile Biden and fist-pumping Trump, who survived an assassination attempt as a winner, writes journalist Laura Saarikoski.

PENNSYLVANIA “It’s over,” said the Pennsylvanian John Mahon on the street an hour after Donald Trump had been shot at an election event.

“Trump won.”

Is he right?

It is clear that Trump now receives a lot of sympathy in the United States from both ordinary people and politicians. President Joe Biden quickly condemned Trump’s firing, calling it sick.

At the same time, the assassination attempt cannot but affect the election campaign.

Trump has had a strong month. He survived the first election debate at the end of June as the winner, when Joe Biden slurred his words and appeared fragile.

The Supreme Court’s ruling extended Trump’s immunity from charges brought against him.

Now voters have two parallel images on their retinas. A frail Biden stuttering in an election debate — and Trump, blood in his ear, defiantly raising his fist in the air as the Secret Service escorts him off the stage.

The message is clear: Trump even survived the assassination attempt as a winner.
