Why is this happening?
There has been controversy surrounding her for a long time. It started with, among other things, her drug spree where she confirmed that she herself has used drugs.
She has a drug-liberal stance, which runs counter to the line of the Christian Democrats. It led to internal battles within the party and she was eventually pushed out of becoming the Christian Democrats’ EU parliamentarian.
But she then made a minor coup, and managed to come back. It was a great victory for her, and she felt she had strong support in the party.
What are the consequences?
It is a political drama within the Christian Democrats. It is also interesting that the EU elections, which are held at the beginning of June, are approaching – and things are not going well at all for the Christian Democrats. They struggle with their poll numbers.
They have had two EU parliamentarians now, i.e. Skyttedal and David Lega. It may very well be that they will be without parliamentarians. At the same time that the Sweden Democrats are running like a train.
What will Teodorescu Måwe mean for KD?
It might even be a win for parity. Teodorescu is a very big profile who, unlike Skyttedal, is not a drug liberal.
She is still a debater, previously linked to the Moderates, but also a strategist and an incredibly skilled debater. She has extensive experience from working at a number of different newspapers, such as Göteborgsposten.
Teodorescu is also powerful, not least on Twitter.
