Kallas’ spouse’s company continued to transport goods to Russia despite the war of aggression. After the matter came to light, the opposition, newspaper editorials and the majority of the people have demanded that the prime minister resign.

TALLINN Estonia’s first female prime minister Kaja Kallas has made a strong profile as a leader who supports Ukraine both in his home country and internationally.
His spouse Arvo Hall too the partially owned transport company’s Russian businesses are in serious conflict with both Kallas’ public image and the policy of the Estonian government.
The Stark Logistics company has continued shipping to Russia on the order of an Estonian customer even after Russia started its war of aggression against Ukraine. The company has assured that these were the last shipments of a customer that is closing its operations in Russia.
The company is however deserved one and a half million euros for transports to Russia during the war of aggression. Although even Estonia the protection police have statedthat no goods subject to sanctions have been exported to Russia, these euros look very bloody.
Up to 70 percent of Estonians are in favor of leaving
The businesses of the Prime Minister’s spouse have caused a storm in Estonia. It has not helped that, especially in the first ones in interviews after the scandal broke Kallas performed arrogantly, aggressively and as a victim.
He has also indicated that nothing illegal has happened and refused to resign.
To many Estonians, Kaja Kallas now appears to be two-faced. She is repeatedly emphasizedthat transactions related to Russia should be stopped, even if they do not violate the international sanctions imposed due to the war of aggression.
So 60–70 percent of Estonians are of recent surveys agree that the prime minister should resign. Divorce have demanded also Estonian newspapers in their editorials.
The opposition center party grinding already an intermediate question related to the topic. The opposition party Isänmaa and the conservative people’s party Ekre have also demanded Kalla’s resignation.
The ball is swinging, although not badly yet
The government partners of Kaja Kallas’ reform party, the Social Democrats and the liberal Estonia 200 party, are not at least for the time being rejecting the prime minister. However, this does not mean that Kallas’ position is secured.
According to information obtained by from several sources, there is no unequivocal support for Kallas’ continuation within the Reform Party. The place of departure may come, if aggravating aspects still arise in the case.
