Now the developers have revealed that the community has only explored around 0.06% of the game world so far. And that in, as written, 10 years. But this is not due to the players’ laziness, but rather due to the sheer size of the universe, which consists of hundreds of billions of stars.
Ten years after its release, the game is due to receive a major update in 2025, which will also change the game world.

What will happen in Elite Dangerous in 2025? As the developers announced, the “Powerplay 2.0” update is scheduled to appear in 2025. The focus of this update is on colonizing systems. This should give players the opportunity to spread human civilization across the universe and colonize new worlds.
