An item from WotLK is better than most of the current raid, but you will only get it for a short time

In a time-limited event you can currently get items from Wrath of the Lich King in World of Warcraft. What’s special about them: They correspond to the item level from The War Within and are therefore even stronger than many things you can get elsewhere.

What kind of item is this?

  • The Wrathstone is a trinket from Ulduar.
  • The item passively increases your critical strike rating and can be activated to increase your strength or mobility by a significant amount for 20 seconds (2 minute cooldown).
  • For many classes, this item is either “Best in Slot”, or at least close to it – but much easier to get than the competition.

    • Where do I get the Wrath Stone? You can loot the Wrathstone from the loot chest after defeating Kologarn in Ulduar. At the moment, the weekly event “Timewalking: Wrath of the Lich King” is active until Tuesday, October 15th.

    You have a chance to get the item at item level 597 (1/6 in the champion track) directly in the raid. However, you should first accept the quest in old Dalaran, for which you have to kill Yogg-saron.

    As a reward you will receive a chest in which you will find loot at level 610 (1/6 in the hero track) – and the Wrath Stone is said to be underneath it, but is rarer here than at Kologarn. In addition, the chest gives you the chance to get some of the rarest mounts in the game.

    The item would be upgraded to a maximum of level 626. For many classes, the anger stone is only replaced by trinkets from the mythical raid and is strong for:

  • Frost Death Knight
  • Feral druids
  • hunter
  • Demon Hunter
  • Windrunner monks
  • Amplifier Shamans

    Time walking is limited in time and often provides really strong items

    In addition to the Wrathstone, you can also obtain the Living Flame in Ulduar. This is the spellcaster counterpart and increases critical strike rating and intelligence. Unlike the Wrathstone, however, the Living Flame has a powerful alternative in the Nerub’ar palace: the Master Spy’s Web.

    You can see which item is best for you in a quick overview at Bloodmallet or Questionably Epic. Alternatively, you can simulate your equipment using raidbots and often get more accurate results.

    Items from old raids have been among the best items in the game for many months now. Since the time walking events are always short and rarely repeat themselves, many players are not really happy about this fact.

    Because if you’re unlucky and don’t get a corresponding item, you often have to wait for months and can’t keep up with other players in your class during this time. The next WotLK Timewalking will take place on February 12, 2025. But in WoW you now at least have the opportunity to get the new best loot more easily: WoW changes rewards to Mythic+, makes dungeons easier
