The grand championship race saw a fantastic finish line. Evartti tried to run away from the forward position, Parvelan Retu did his best from the leading side and VG Voitto, running behind them, rushed to his own attack. Young power beat experience in the finish line, when VG Voitto rolled past Evart with a new SE result of 18.2, whose SE result was broken by two tenths.
– He is such a cheerful boy, coach Seppo Suuronen characterized VG Voitto after the race.
– On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, we go to the nursery, and in addition to that, we go for a walk on the village roads. This was certainly a very hard performance for the horse. Surely a popular thing, Suuronen grinned.
VG Victory director Ari Moilanen explained the tactical patterns of the race.
– We got through well, and if not Hannu (Horned) would have driven ahead, I myself would have driven alongside the leader. At the end, I felt that the finish line was too short. VG Voitto continued its own pace nicely and in the end it seemed that it narrowly passed Evart.
Tammatähti’s heroine, Ava Di Alessia, was still possibly transitioning to breeding in the spring, but Arvid Åvalli’s Tammaderby victory in Vermo in May changed the thoughts of the background forces. In Mikkeli, the mare shot from the second outside on the finish line to the first place past the bow after fighting One And Only nicely.
Breeder and co-owner Asko Kollin took the joy out of the winner’s ring. The racing career will continue at least in the near future.
– There are still several good starts this year, and in addition to this year, there will also possibly be a race next year, commented Kollin.
Vappuääija lasted as the number one
The silver division hero Vappuäijja was close to breaking into the ranks of the super runners, which is justified by a sub-1.20 kilometer time. The stallion shot off wildly from the outside, and Santtu Raitala actually stole the lead from Kinder in a wild 17.0 opening. Tangen Ove, who was next to him, raced to the finish line, but Vappuiäijja lasted in first place with a kilometer time of 20.0.
– Vappuääijä started harder than he has ever started. I think it’s a horse you can try at Kuninkuusravei, Santtu Raitala commented.
The bronze division started almost as hard as Siirin Farssi and Rantaniemelä Savu jostled for the top spot. Mikko Valtonen rode Birger in the back pairs, and he was able to fan out the victory twenty meters before the finish line.
Juha Utalan Odin Orden of the stable performed as manfully as any rider. Utala first joined the leader, from there two laps before the finish, he took the lead, and on the finish line, Odin Orden did what was needed with a result of 14.3/2609m. Global Venture throttled to the front by a mile after taking a sure win. Callela Nelson took the crown with a 10.5 result from the leading breast.
