Apple’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, Greg Joswiak, said in a statement that the latest model of the iPod, the iPod touch, will no longer be produced, and that they will replace the iPod with many other products with which they integrate music playback features.
THE AGE OF PORTABLE MUSIC DEVICES
While this decision of the company marked the end of the era of portable music devices that it started in 2001, Apple stated that the iPod touch will continue to be available in the market until the consumables are exhausted.
The iPod touch model, which was last released in 2019, could record up to 1000 CD-quality songs.
The iPod touch, which was first released in 2007 and looks more like the iPhone, could send iMessages and make FaceTime calls in addition to playing music. (AA)
