After The last duelit is another part of the History of France that Ridley Scott highlights with his camera. The prolific 85-year-old director has chosen to portray the rise and fall of Napoleon Bonapart in his next film to be released in theaters, Napoleon. On November 22, 2023, French spectators will be able to discover in dark rooms his adaptation of the life of the first emperor of France under the prism of his relationship with his wife, Joséphine, until his fall and his exile.
To embody the protagonist who gives the film its title, Ridley Scott chose the actor Joaquin PhoenixOscar winner in 2020 for his performance in Joker. To play his wife, Josephine, it’s Vanessa Kirby (The Crown, Mission: Impossible 6 and 7) that was chosen. Tahar Rahim is also part of the cast, as is Ludivine Sagnier.
