The new anime Solo Leveling is based on a popular webtoon and could also be a really good tip for real MMORPG fans. You can expect dungeons, heroism and, at first impression, a pretty classic story of the loser who gets a second chance.
The latest trailer for the upcoming anime was presented during Anime Expo 2023 and gives you the best look yet at the series, which is scheduled to appear on Crunchyroll next winter.
The anime is being created by the studio A-1 Pictures and directed by Shunsuke Nakashige, who also worked on Sword Art Online: Alicization, among other things. The team behind the anime provides musical support from Hiroyuki Sawano, who was also responsible for the epic background music for the successful anime Attack on Titan.
Solo Leveling first became known as a webtoon by Chugong and was then published as a manga adaptation in Germany.

What does the trailer show? The trailer gives you a deeper insight into the story and introduces some characters, among other things. You get to know the protagonist Song Jin Woo, but also the characters Yoo Jin Ho, Baek Yoon Ho and Cha Hae In.

What is Solo Leveling about? The real world is connected to another dimension through the gates. These suddenly appeared in the world over a decade ago and since then people with supernatural abilities have also awakened. These people are called hunters.
The Hunters make their living conquering the dungeons within the Gates. Protagonist Jin Woo is also one of these hunters, but is considered the weakest hunter in all of humanity. In his attempt to conquer a high-level dungeon, he is mortally injured and is on the verge of death when a mysterious quest window appears.
The quest requires him to rise in rank and fight his way to the top of the Hunters. JinWoo decides to accept this quest and so begins his second chance to prove himself as a hunter.
