YouTuber Connor “CDawgVA” Colquhoun, 26, rode his bike across the Japanese island of Hokkaido for a week to raise money for an immune disease foundation. The friend of the Twitch streamer ironmouse is ill herself and is overwhelmed with emotion.

This is CDawgVA: Connor is a Welsh voice actor and YouTuber. Famous for his anime and cosplay content, he now lives in Tokyo and is part of the popular Trash Taste podcast, which has also starred in the likes of Jacksepticeye and LilyPichu.

On YouTube, Connor has 3.82 million subscribers across multiple channels, and the “Trash Taste” podcast is regularly watched by over 1 million people. Now he made a name for himself with a charitable campaign.

Streamers and influencers often end up in the headlines with scandals, but sometimes there are also beautiful moments, like this sugar-sweet clip:

This is what Connor has done: Together with fellow YouTuber Chris “Abroad in Japan” Broad, CDawg once rode a bike across the Japanese island of Hokkaido. In total, they covered a distance of more than 800 kilometers.

The entire “Cyclethon” was broadcast on Connor’s Twitch channel from August 29, where an average of over 16,000 people watched the action. At the culmination of the bike tour on September 5, more than 30,000 people watched (via sullygnome).

In this clip you can see how Connor and Chris reach their destination, a train station in southern Hokkaido. The video has already received over 80,000 views.

Connor thanks for the support after his fundraiser

Vtuber with immune disease cries with emotion in the stream

This streamer is about: The streamer ironmouse is a so-called vtuber. This stands for Virtual YouTuber and means that she does not appear in her streams in person. Instead, she uses a computer-generated avatar that adopts her facial expressions and gestures.

Like many VTubers, ironmouse appears as a cute anime girl and is very successful with it: she has 1.3 million followers on Twitch, and her streams reach almost 10,000 viewers on average. After Hololives Gawr Gura, she is the second most successful vtuber worldwide (via sullygnome, sportskeeda).

This is the emotional stream: Actually, ironmouse, who appears as a pink-haired demon girl, is known for her sassy and lively personality. But in a September 5 stream, ironmouse was overcome with her emotions.

Together with her viewers, she watched the last leg of Connors and Chris’ bike ride and gave an emotional speech at the end. She thanked the YouTubers for the fundraiser and thanked everyone who supported the event or donated money.

Her emotion was clearly noticeable. Ironmouse kept sobbing and sniffling as she thanked me extensively.

Honestly, it really means a lot to me that Connor is doing this. When he told me he was doing it, I cried so much. I cried quite a bit because it was such a surprise that someone would go out of their way to do something so incredible and unselfish, so draining on the body. Everything for a good cause that hardly anyone knows about. So thanks. Thank you Connor for doing this.

This is the background of the emotional clip: ironmouse suffers from CVID, a “common variable immunodeficiency” and a lung disease. She is mostly bedridden and dependent on oxygen. The illness also ended her dream of becoming an opera singer.

These diseases are also the reason for the distinctive high voice of the streamer. ironmouse also has personal experience with the foundation for which Connor and Chris collected the money: the IDF was there for them when they were very scared and didn’t know what was wrong with them.

The community is also touched: Clips of Connor’s “Cyclethon” and ironmouse’s reaction went viral on social media. There, people were touched by the friendship between the two streamers and admired Chris and Connor for their commitment.

“A completely normal day for Connor, unselfish as usual. A real gigachad.” You can put it that way (via YouTube).

How do you like the action? Did you maybe even follow them yourself? Do you think streamers and YouTubers should use their reach more for good causes, or rather stick with gaming? Please leave us a comment with your opinion.

Other streamers have also inspired their viewers with charitable campaigns. The YouTube troupe PietSmiet hosts an annual charity event together with the well-known streamer Gronkh.
