Even the real actors would probably have failed at many of the games from the Squid Game series. One person has now admitted that he had particular problems with a game – but it wasn’t the game itself that was to blame, but rather a physical feature.

Which game did the actor have problems with? In the 4th episode of Squid Game, players learn that they will next have to face five different children’s games known in Korea as a team of five. One of the games is the spinning top. With this, a string will first be wrapped around the top before it is unwound rapidly and thus gets its spin.
As a result, player 001 has problems getting the top to spin. Since the games have to be completed within a certain time limit, the pressure on him increases. But his teammates manage to calm him down, which means they win the game after all.

Actor uses wrong hand in Squid Game
What did the actor have difficulty with? But there is another reason why player 001 suddenly gets the top spinning: in all of his failed attempts, he used his right hand. The player is actually left-handed, which is why the top spins immediately when he uses his left hand to pull off the rope.
But Lee Byhung-hun, the actor who plays Player 001, is right-handed in real life. So he had to improvise the game and pretend that he was failing with his actually strong hand, as he reveals in a YouTube video from Netflix K-Content:
Here [beim Kreisel-Spiel, Anm. d. Red.] is the problem I encountered. I’m actually right-handed, but the frontman in the show is left-handed. I was worried that I would make too many mistakes while shooting the scene.
Unfortunately, the actor doesn’t reveal how many attempts it took until the scenes were finalized. You can see for yourself whether Byhung-hun did a good job and, as a right-handed player, was still able to play a convincing left-hander.
