As the chosen one with striking similarities to Sun Wukong, the mythical monkey king, you fight your way through Chinese mythology. The story is based on the Chinese novel “Journey to the West”, a classic of Chinese literature.
Black Myth: Wukong has long been the most requested game on Steam. The game not only managed to build up a lot of hype – but also managed to meet the high expectations upon release. Player reviews on Steam are “extremely positive.”
With over 2.2 million concurrent players, no new game had a higher peak player count on Steam in 2024 – most of the players came from China.

This surpasses the exceptional role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3, which only managed to secure two awards at the Steam Awards last year.
