Brady Spent About An Hour On Wednesday Night Fielding Prepared Questions from A Moderator about Healthcare, Education and Affordable Living, and from Audience Members who Wo Wre expecting to hear candidates’ diverse viewpoints.
At the Start of the Event, Moderator Robyn Beazley Explained that the Haldimand Press, a Caledonia-Based Community Newspaper that organized the debate, made efforts to include all the candidates.
“Unfortantately, Both the Liberal Party and the Progressive Conservative Party Candidates Cancelled Their Wait Shortly Before the Debate,” Said Beazley.
Registered Candidates in the Riding Are Brady, Martin, Liberal Vandan Patel, the Green Party’s Anna Massinen, Erica Englert of the NDP, and Garry Tanchak of the new Blue Party.

In a video posted on Facebook thursday morning, Martin Said She “Wanted to Correct the Record,” About Her Reason for Withdrawing from the Debate.
“I was there. This is not about the weather as you were told. This is about Fairness. It’s about You. I Agreed to an All-Candidates’ Debate. However, when i arrived, i learned that no other candidates from any other party were there. The Organizers knew this, and they are failed to tell us. The voters deserve to hear from all parts for their vision for Ontario. It’s What an All-Candidates’ Debate is about. ”
But, Brady, an independent candidate who was elected in the last provincial election, was there.

“With Limited preparation time, a candidate like me is not in a position to confidently deliver to presentation or respond to questions. The short timeframe for this election has been challenging and unrealistic, making it difficult for all involved. ”
Clark Said Martin’s Team was at the Event Hall about An Hour Before the Debate and Martin Was Onsite But Never Entered the Building. Clark Said About 10 minutes before the Debate was to start, organizers got martin wouldn’t be participating.

“It is true that we did not provide martin, or any candidate, with a play-by-play as candidates rejected, confirmed, or withdrew waiting,” Said Clark. “We were so focused on just trying to make an event possible…. that it genuinely did not occur to us that candidates might want a list of who else was participating.
“In our mind, a candidate expects a debate not because they want a discourse with other parties, but because it provides them with a free platform to share their views and ideas with their potential constituent. Unfortunately, Martin thing to be one of the approximately 9,000 views (and counting) on our livestream rather Than Be one of Two Candidates Sharing Their Platforms. ”
Martin, who has taken a leave of absence from her dies as mayor of norfolk country to run her campaign, could not be reached for further comment.
