Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics meet in the NBA Finals. Very funny videos are spreading about Luka Doncic, who made a wild mark.
The Dallas Mavericks joined the NBA basketball league for the 1980–81 season. Since then, the club has reached the NBA Finals twice before this season (2006, 2011).
The club’s only championship is from 2011, when Dirk Nowizkin the star-studded group crashed in the finals LeBron James’s led by the Miami Heat.
Now the Mavericks can claim their second championship after beating the Minnesota Timberwolves 4-1 in the Western Conference finals.
In return, Dallas will receive a much more traditional and successful club, the Boston Celtics, who defeated the Indiana Pacers directly 4–0 in the finals of the Eastern Conference.
Boston is one of the original NBA clubs. The club has 17 championships and an additional 11 final places. The last time Boston was disappointed in the NBA Finals was in 2022, when the Golden State Warriors were better.
Doncic dominated the statistics
The biggest star of the Mavericks is again European, called as the triple name of the 2018 draft Luka Doncic.
The Slovenian has taken his team on his back and brought it back to the top of the NBA.
In this season’s playoffs, Doncic, 25, has scored the most points (489), made the most shots (166), made the most threes (57), sank the most free throws (100), grabbed the most rebounds (164), dished out the most assists (150) and took the most prey (28). He is also the top name in double-doubles (13) and triple-doubles (6).
Doncic is the first player in NBA history to grab at least 150 rebounds, 150 assists and 50 threes in a playoff season.
– This means a lot. This is a hard road. But here we are. We’re here because we deserve to be here,” Doncic said after sealing his first career Finals berth.
Stealing fish and yelling at the audience
After Dallas took a decisive victory in the conference finals, there was a moment in the locker room corridor that has been widely amused on social media.
Doncic enjoyed a beer and felt his father’s place in the NBA finals Sasha with. The Dallas club boss, vice president of basketball operations, showed up Michael Finleywho grabbed the beer from a dazed Doncic before greeting Saša.
Doncic’s expressions were funny. Then he mostly shrugged.
– Finley took quite a few steals during his 17-year NBA career. Now, however, Finley could make his most convincing exploit, CBS Sports carved.
In his playing career, Finley won the championship in 2007 with the San Antonio Spurs. He was one of the best defenders of his time and made more than 1,000 saves in his career.
The New York Post recalled, that Doncic has struggled with his weight during his career and received negative feedback from his club after arriving at the training season in bad shape. However, the media claims that it was more likely that Finley wants to see his club win four more before the party can begin.
Another amusing video was created during the game. The Timberwolves Home crowd did not appreciate how Doncic, in his typical way, complained to the referees. One spectator made crying gestures to Doncic.
After a basket situation, Doncic then roared into the stands, peppered with profanity: “Who’s crying now!?”
In front of the spectator in question sat Snoop Doggwho burst out laughing.
Boston is the early favorite
For its part, Doncic’s “magic mode” has made it possible Kyrie Irving. The two have found a great game together and form the best offensive backcourt in the NBA.
– This did not happen overnight. It’s a beautiful combination. You can see they care about each other, Dallas head coach Jason Kidd beamed the duo.
In the NBA Finals, Irving returns to Boston, which he represented in 2017-19.
Still, among other things Jayson Tatum’s and Jaylen Brown’s star-studded Boston goes into the final series as early favorites thanks to its speed, talent, roster width, experience and home advantage.
Boston has been the season’s best team in the statistics, and beat the Mavericks in both meetings in the regular season.
The NBA finals start in the morning Finnish time on June 7.
