“The illusion of a people”, as Amorebieta’s motto says this season, is now also the illusion of Javi Ros (Tudela, 32 years old). He has been the last to get on the blue boat in his search for permanence. He has also done so with an infinite desire to enjoy football again, feeling important. Without a doubt, He has made a good start in Urritxe’s team, it shows in the good atmosphere with his teammates and in the sensations he has already shown on the pitch in the 48 minutes that accumulates. He has even made his debut as a scorer, giving a vital point in extremis against Lugo last weekend. Now, On his birthday, the midfielder on loan from Real Zaragoza attends Diario AS in Urritxein which it is his first interview since he arrived at the Zornotzarra team in the winter market.
Congratulations on your birthday and your first goal with Amorebieta. Two weeks since his arrival. How is the?
Thanks a lot. I feel very well. Happy to be here, having already played two games. I have felt very supported since the day I arrived and with great desire and enthusiasm.
He has entered the Zornotzarra team on the right foot. After just 48 minutes on the field, and in his second participation, the first goal for Azul. What did he feel when scoring?
Happy above all to be able to help the team, and add a point that I think was very important and well deserved. It was a cluster of sensations. I come from a difficult time on a personal level in sports. Also, that it is the second game and I manage to score a goal, when I don’t usually score many, it is a joy to be able to help from the first day.
Complicated season, many months without competing due to injury and other reasons, in Zaragoza. Are you enjoying football again in Amorebieta?
Yes, it was what I was looking for in January after these six months in which I had absolutely nothing. It is true that this season I have not had a single injury and I felt very well, but I have not had opportunities. Amorebieta has trusted and believed in me. That’s how I’ve felt since the first day and I’m very happy to be able to do my bit here. Very excited about this challenge that has been presented to me.
At what point did you decide to change your scenery and look for other alternatives?
It was not easy to leave home, because that is how I consider Zaragoza, my home. I’ve been a long time and the fans have always made me feel like one of them. But on a sporting level he was not having any prominence and was not having importance within the club either. What I want is to play and I’m still very excited about playing football. The Amorebieta showed a lot of interest and it is something that I have valued a lot and I thank them.
Did you have more proposals in this winter market?
There was something, but I was looking for a place where they wanted me to be, where they gave me confidence and made me feel that I could be important and valid to help the team. Amore made me feel that way. Now I only hope to be able to respond, be up to the task and help to achieve the beautiful goal we have.
Very fast integration. From the first day it seemed that he knew all his companions.
That’s what makes this team great. The dressing room is a pineapple and it’s something very important for a complicated challenge like the one we have ahead of us, but I think it’s very feasible. It has also helped me that there were several colleagues with whom I had already met at Real, such as Seguín, Aldalur, Ozkoidi… People who have made it very easy for me from the first day. Together with them, the whole team has welcomed me very well.

What do you think you can contribute to Amorebieta in the remainder of the season?
That experience both on and off the pitch. It is true that I know the category, although that does not make you win games either. I demand the maximum of myself every day to be as well prepared as possible to help achieve the challenge, which I believe is possible and we are going to fight until the end.
Apart from the collective challenge. Any personal goals this season?
Achieving the collective goal will ensure that my personal goal is fulfilled for sure, which is to help Amorebieta save themselves and be important in the team both on and off the pitch. I have come in search of feeling important and at the moment it is happening to me and I think it will, to a greater or lesser extent. I really want to work and improve.

Now, fighting for permanence, another of the teams that is in the fight is Real Zaragoza. Team that he loves so much. It will be complicated sensations to think that the salvation of his current team can go through relegation to Zaragoza.
I don’t even want to think about that. I suffer because of the situation that Zaragoza is experiencing, it is a club that I love and I am very fond of. Today, I am focused here on Amorebieta, my interest is that Amorebieta be saved, it is the only thing I can and must do. I don’t like the situation at Real Zaragoza, but now what worries me and occupies me is Amorebieta.
Navarro, from Tudela, but a txuriurdin youth squad. Many years at Real Sociedad, even with 15 games in the First Division and two in the Champions League. Will the return to the Reale Arena be special?
Yes, sure. I haven’t been able to be at the Reale Arena yet and it will be special. La Real has given me everything, I lived my whole childhood there and I had the opportunity to start being a professional footballer. I am eternally grateful to what Real has contributed to my sports career and on a personal level. It’s a game that makes me very excited for everything and I understand that it will be very important for us too.
Next Monday, a vital game against Leganés. Of which it is usually said that there are more than three points at stake.
Yes, a direct rival. We play at home and we have to win, because salvation lies in making us strong in Lezama. We are going to prepare it to the fullest this week with all the desire and strength in the world so that the points stay at home and we can get hooked on those chances of salvation that we are going to have for sure.
There are fifteen games left, many rivals have to pass through Lezama for salvation such as Mirandés, Málaga, Fuenlabrada, Alcorcón… Do they do the math?
No, I think that the fundamental thing is to go game by game. Thinking about the afterlife does not get us anywhere, and it will even probably reduce your strength for what is to come. We focus solely and exclusively on the Leganés match. We have to put all our senses into that game to try to win it, and from there, think about the next one. That will be one of the keys to fight for the objective.
