Amnesty Israel commits genocide in Gaza Foreign countries

According to Amnesty’s research, Israel has committed and continues to commit the genocide of Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip.

Israel’s methods of warfare in Gaza meet the hallmarks of genocide, says the international human rights organization Amnesty.

Amnesty investigated Israel’s actions from October last year until July 2024.

A recent report by the organization shows that Israel’s intention is to exterminate the Palestinians in Gaza. Amnesty highlights the exceptionally high number of civilian casualties and the life-threatening conditions deliberately inflicted on Palestinians.

Israel has destroyed entire cities, critical infrastructure and made large areas of Gaza uninhabitable, the report states.

According to Amnesty, Israel has created living conditions in Gaza where Palestinians suffer from malnutrition, hunger and disease. In many cases, Israeli attacks have killed families spanning several generations.

Amnesty investigated 102 statements made by the Israeli government and officers in which, according to the organization, dehumanized Palestinians and called for acts of genocide or other crimes against Palestinians.

The human rights organization also looked at, for example, fifteen airstrikes by Israel that killed 334 civilians, including 141 children, and wounded hundreds of people. Amnesty found no evidence that any of the attacks targeted a military target.

States are required to act, not talk

Amnesty International calls for urgent action from the international community to stop the genocide. The organization emphasizes that it demands action especially from countries that still continue to trade arms with Israel.

– States that supply weapons to Israel violate their obligation to prevent genocide and risk complicity in it, says the Secretary General of Amnesty International Agnès Callamard in the bulletin.

Amnesty demands the immediate release of all civilian hostages and urges the UN Security Council to impose targeted sanctions on the leaders of Israel and Hamas.

As of December 4, 2024, Israel’s military offensive has killed more than 44,500 Palestinians and wounded more than 105,500.
