Amersfoorter (17) who accidentally shot nephew (15) does not have to go back to prison

Former public prosecutor about Sjoerd Swane Case is still important

AMERSFOORT – A 17-year-old boy from Amersfoort who accidentally shot his 15-year-old nephew last year, does not have to go back to prison. According to the court, it has not been proven that there was intent, but that it concerns culpable homicide through reckless behavior. Y. put the weapon against his nephew’s behind, without checking if it was loaded. The judge further blames him for not telling the emergency services what had happened, despite the fact that they provided medical help in the house for an hour. Furthermore, Y. hid the weapon.
