During the elections, Amersfoorters were also allowed to go to the polls about the new parking policy. A large majority voted against the plans. At no polling station in the municipality did more people vote in favor of the plans than against.
These plans are difficult to summarize in one question. The new policy is not just about parking. It is also about creating more green space. It is mainly a plan for housing construction. If the amount of space currently occupied by cars is not limited, there will be no room for all the municipality’s housing plans. Because it is such a broad plan, a survey was created.
