Tolerance to fireworks dropped. “Every year, people, including aid workers, are injured, personal property is destroyed and people complain about dangerous situations and noise pollution,” the council explains the choice. “The pleasure that some of the Amersfoorters experience from setting off fireworks does not outweigh the disadvantages.” That is why the city council believes that there is no longer room in the city for setting off consumer fireworks yourself.
