The event has been reason for the municipality to install the cameras. “An explosion in a residential area is of course exceptional,” writes mayor Lucas Bolsius in a letter to local residents. “I think it is very important that your street offers a safe living environment. That is why I have decided to immediately install camera surveillance, close to the location where the explosion took place.”
