“Last week we were in Paris all week. You’re completely in that Olympic bubble and we wanted to bring that vibe back to the Netherlands, which is why we’re here tonight,” says Geertjan. “It was amazing, fun to follow everything so closely,” adds Wiebe. Big athletics fan Marian van Amsterdam had driven from her holiday home on the Veluwe to Amersfoort. “I’ve been on the athletics track myself since I was eight, so you have to follow it on a big screen of course.”
